Microwave a fresh lemon for 15 seconds and double the juice you get before squeezing!
Did you know? If you have a lemon tree and can’t use all of your lemons right away, you can freeze them whole. Just pierce with a knife before thawing in microwave for juice. (frozen lemons are great for juice, but not for slicing or zesting.)
For the Best Lemonade EVER:
1 C. Sugar
1 C. Hot Water
1 C. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (about 4 lemons)
2 Qts. Cold Water
In a 2 quart pitcher, pour the hot water over the sugar and stir until sugar dissolves. Add fresh squeezed lemon juice, and fill the pitcher with cold water. Pour over ice and enjoy!
- For pink lemonade, puree 1 cup of strawberries or raspberries and stir into lemonade. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
For an adult twist, try a Lemondrop:
- In a shaker, mix 2 shots vodka, 1 shot triple sec, and 1 cup of lemonade with some ice and pour into martini glasses with a sugared rim. Makes 2 Martinis.
